does the plekd machine adjust the guitar or does it just point out what needs 2 be done and then a luthier adjusts it ?

Per the info, the PLEK machine makes all the adjustments.

I have never read anything about any Fenders being Plek'd, I did play a Les Paul Traditional [all traditionals are plek'd], and it is setup perfectly out of the box. No fret buzz anywhere or sharp frets. And the action was right on for my taste. Something Fender should think about.

Just had my Stratocaster Pleck'd at Westwood Music in Los Angeles. The entire process took approx. 3 hours and included additional setup such as setting pickup height, etc. I'm very happy with the result. Plek results in very good (some say perfect) truss rod, nut, action, and fret adjustment. In the hands of a trained operator, the results are great. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Leland at Westwood. No relationship other than being a satisfied customer ... a very professional and friendly shop.

Total cost was $220. That is the Plek job and the remainder of the items that would have also been included in a conventional setup. I thought it reasonable given the amount of time (approx. 3 hours) and final result.

Maybe I'm just too much an old fart from, "The Old School".

As guitars are/were born, survive and still function exceptionally well throughout the generations without the assistance of this device, I feel that it really isn't necessary. Rather, a competent tech is.

Naturally, this is merely my opinion where YMMV.

The Plek machine is quite costly so only a few shops have one thus far. It is about $500 to get a guitar plek'd and there is a waiting list.
Only certain Gibson models are factory plek'd and I imagine they will expand in the future.

I have not personally checked out a guitar that has been plek'd but I have heard that they are amazing.

Haha. Me either, man. Minute intonation variances that I cannot change with the usual tools I change with my fingers while I am playing.

Just my opinion, all new technology is not always better. I personally prefer the uniqueness of humans making my guitars. I think of the Plek'd thing to just be another way to replace the human worker. If I have the choice, I'll stick with the "old" method, just as I still prefer a carb to fuel injection.

Peace Out.

I have played a pleked guitar. It is a couple of year old SG, that was pleked a couple of months ago. I was told it was @ 250 including installing an earvana nut.

What a difference. I played this guitar before and after...Unbelievable!! The action on this guitar is too low. There are no dead spots, no fretting out, truly fantastic.

I will be doing to all of my guitars as the money allows.
