That looks fine, and I bet it works better too.

Of course Strat controls are in a bad position. It's a Strat! That's the glory and the guts of what you get, and who cares?

FenderTelecaster14: Thanks. I think it looks OK, too. And, most importantly, it DOES work much better.
I'm going to talk with the Fender Custom Shop to insure that my Signature Stratocaster incorporates this feature  Also included will be Seymour Duncan's Pearly Gates pickup, since the stock "H" in "HSS" sounds, to be generous, a little thin. Cheers!

Well, in the interest of full disclosure, I too had to adjust a little to avoid accidentally nudging the volume knob. But since it's nowhere near as protuberant as the selector switch, my trauma was fortunately minimal  But hey, opinions vary (as evidenced here, there & everywhere), and I guess life would be pretty dull otherwise... How else does one account for the seemingly ubiquitous (and monumentally insipid) Hannah Montana?

Hello, fellow Fenderphiles. I was kind of surprised that this thread died so quickly. Maybe I offended all you Hannah Montana fans...? :D

Anyway, I've done a couple of things that I'd like to share & hear your feedback:

After awhile, the placement of Volume knob was something I just couldn't get over. So, taking a tip from Eddie Van Halen, I scrapped the Tone knobs (not cutting any wires, just tucked them into the cavity) and moved the Volume to the center hole. Then I replaced the standard knob with a knurled chrome one (like on a Telecaster) from a BC Rich that I'd put black Speed Knobs on. I covered the holes from the inside using aluminum tape.

The result? I never knew how much it bothered me until I played it with this new configuration. Now, I LOVE MY GUITAR! Let me know what y'all think.ImageImage

Now, if that last post wasn't enough to give you a case of the vapors & fantods, how 'bout this:

With EVH on the brain, a roll of aluminum tape, and boredom with the guitar's somewhat vanilla looks, I had a little fun. Please share your opinions, pro & con. Personally, I like it. And it's easily restored back to original if I ever want to. Frankly, it's just a really fun guitar to play now--and isn't that what it's all about? Cheers!ImageImage

i find on different strats the controls are in a slightly diferent place. for instance on my squire i always end up turning the volume down when i play. on my mia strat i run into the selector switch problem. its really just something your right hand has to get used to as far as i can tell

I love the position of the Strat volume control.

The only complaint I'd have about Fender controls is the Tele selector switch. When it''s in the treble position, I find it difficult to quickly switch back to the rhythm position. The switch is too close to the knob!
