Hey guys, I am kind of new to the Fender world and so far I'm liking it....
I own a mexican reverse strat and a mix of american highway one and standard strat I love them both.....
As I was recently learning a little about the history of Leo Fender I kind of see that selling his company was probably the worst bussiness of his life ? what do you guys think ? and what do you think about his last company G&L which he said produced the best guitars he made in his whole life ?
I kind of Feel he was taken advantage of is that true ?
What do you guys think ? educate me plz LOL

I was never that crazy about the G&L guitars. I remember being kinda disapponted taking a couple out on a test drive back in the day. I do remember that Steve Morse used to play one back in the early 80s Dregs days.

I like the G&L's. I did extensivly look at them when I was switching to single coils and would buy one in a second if I could afford, or find a reason to spend the money on one but the Fenders just had a better vibe to them and seemed to fit me, personaly, a little better. great guitars though. As for the Story of Leo, I like to think that his life was like every one elses it has its ups and downs but I'm pretty sure in the end when you look back at your accomplishments they make the other events seem small

Leo Fender did what he wanted to do, from what I can see. He went from running a PA system to building some of the most important electric guitars in history.

Then he left the company with his name and started building other guitars, eventually starting another company with one of the men who was there at the beginning.

He enjoyed what he did. If he didn't, he wouldn't have done it for nearly fifty years. Fender is a huge company now, and has been for quite some time. Maybe that isn't what he wanted, and that's why he moved from smaller company to smaller company.

I had the same experience with G&L.
They just weren't my cup of tea.
Thanks for sharing the link to his work space...
I love how it is silent as u look around.
Very very very cool room to look into.
