I was just wondering if anybody else has given their guitar a name? I mean, I call my black MIM strat 'Felix' (I don't know why I gave it a male name, I just always felt my guitar was a guy lol), and I talk to it and stuff like it was a real person or something. Does anybody else do this kind of thing or am I just a freak?

If there's anyone out there that feels that their strat is more than just an inanimate object and treats it like a human being, let me know so I'll stop wondering if I need therapy.

Thanks. =)

NO, you're okay. there are a lot of us that do the same thing. I don't know if we like to admit to talking to our guitars. :)

Hey Gang-

My # 1, A 2000 Fender MIM Strat, Midnight Wine is called "Baby" and she can be tempermental at times-

My 84 Ibanez Roadstar II is "Guido" and he gets nasty.

Your instrument has a personality and no two are alike. You know them like a person...their flaws, short comings as well as their good points. You feel bad when they get a knick or a scratch- you keep it in better cosmetic shape then your car- Its a trippy thing but it doesn't make us crazy- Just passionate.

I can relate. I wasn't planning to name my Strat, but one day I was playing "Walk Don't Run" and the guitar told me her name was Surfer Girl.

Kinda weird--I've never really been the kind of person to name inanimate objects.

I talk to mine all the time. I came home from a long trip one time and told her I missed her when I got back

I have a white '59 Strat that I have been known to refer to as "The $@!&#*" for obvious reasons.

Sad thing is, it originally was 3-tone sunburst...but its original owner had a Jimi Hendrix fixation and a disturbing hallucinogen habit...the combination of which caused him one night to paint it a horrible white color.

But, man, it sure plays and sounds sweet!

From left to right:
Shannon - She's a fiery redhead, and the name seemed to fit.

Elizabeth - After this beautiful blond girl I knew in high school.

Leo - He's a Fender after all....

I named my MIM strat "Numero Uno" after SRV's "Number 1". You know, because it's Mexican...

Was the censored word another name for a female dog? Cause that's one of those words that gets censored, as it's generally accepted as not being a nice word.

No, it was another word for saltine. Or a graham _____.

Seemed harmless, but what do I know:? :? Oh well, Their board, their rules; whatever works.

Since mine is a Midnight Wine Color... I call it Amy after Amy Winehouse.
