I have scn's pickups and I like them a lot, but I don't want to spend money on the same type of pickups just so I can get a different color. I want have the pickups and knobs black and I was just wondering if this is possible.

Yah you can just remove the pickup cover and then paint it if you like. Or you can just get different colour pickup covers for pretty cheap. The only advantage to painting it is that you can make them any colour you like.

Pickup covers are very cheap...
Remove the pickgaurd on a strat to replace them...
Humbuckers cannot be done this way...
Painting them might not look that good either, depending...

I agree with BSS. Also, with covers, the color runs all the way through (unlike painting). Although, If you dig the heavily weathered "relic" look, it may be the way to go as the you will eventually be scratching that paint off if it is well played.

I'd go with covers--especially when it's something like a Strat you can easily find.
