(Mods, please be gentle with me on this one as it mainly pertains to my Strat. which I love).

Ok here is my MIM Strat (made October 21, 1997).

Now, I did this pickguard mod on my EPI LP (I would have posted the picture, but the mods here but I thought the may have a problem with that):

I already traced it out and did a rough cut on it, but being that formica is such a major pain to cut (its very brittle).

I don't think the mods are going to care.
It's not like u started a post trying to tell people fender's suck or somthing.
It's just ur guitar... Anyway, do u really feel it necessary to use somthing so brittle?
I hope that works well with this larger sized pickguard on the strat.
I kno this, that guitar will look alot more "Disco" like that.
Seriously, I am not making fun of it. Have u looked around to see if there is PG that would suite?

I agree with the brittle comment. I can totally see going through the trouble of making it, then having that large strat pickguard crack somewhere if you hit the volume too hard or something. You might want to consider either a different material, or putting a thin metal layer under it to give it a little more strength perhaps.

Other than all the 1000's of custom strat pickguards you can see/buy online, I've seen guys go to a fabric store, pick out some off-the wall fabric and cover a pickguard with that (and putting a clear coat over it perhaps).

Well, on my LP, I epoxied plexiglass to the formica as a backing material and for strength.
I just wanted to use that cause I have a s***load of it.
