Has anyone had any experience with the Robert Cray Standard Strat? I love the sound of Robert Cray's strat and I might look into it more. I love blues music and I've heard people say that its great for it.

Any thing will help

Please and Thanks!!!

Many years ago I auditioned one off the wall at Manny's on 48th Street in NYC. It's a typical hardtail strat with a more vintage kind of vibe. I wasn't particularly in love with the neck.

Being a Custom Artist piece, I would expect not to find them around. I haven't since.

there are two versions of the RC strat, just like the two Buddy Guy strats

That's correct, and I've never seen the MIM version displayed. Large vendors like GC are responsible for choosing product. A quick look around will give you a fair iidea of what segment of the Fender product line is most usually ordered.

Either of the two instruments mentioned would likely have to be a special order by a dealer who would be willing to assume the risk in the event a potential buyer backs out. That's an individual question for this inquiry.

Well I'm looking for a good guitar for blues, and seeing how I really like Robert Cray's style I thought I might give it a try. I might go to our Guitar Centers near me and see if they have one...

I don't really want to order one...but oh well...

I don't know that his style has anything to do with the guitar. It's a rather generic hardtail Strat. Check the specs. You could likely get this sound out of an '08 American Standard without paying the extra bucks.

His guitar is less than $700 and an American is like $900 isn't it?

It's his strat and a Classic Players 60 RI that I've been looking into.

I don't care for a tremolo...I saw the RC Strat was a hardtail and I thought that was nice...

Anyway, Thanks for the help so far!
