I have a strat that has the contoured neck plate, and would like to know the specifications for the placement of the screwholes on this plate, since one of the screws is offset from standard position. From my own quick hand measurement with the neck installed, that single offset screw hole seems to have a center-to-center distance of 1 5/64" from the screwhole below it on the same side of the plate, whereas the two "normally" placed screwholes on the other side of the plate seem to have a 1 15/16" center-to-center distance between them.

However, i'd like to know what Fender has officially published for the screwhole placement specifications for the contoured neck plate.

I am looking at replacing the neck, and i will need to provide Warmoth or whichever company i buy the replacement neck from, the correct screwhole placement specs.

Looks like the Fender part number for the contoured neck plate is 005-9209-049

Thanks

That is what you are looking for but for a contoured neck plate

Warmoth offers 3 options: standard 4-hole, 3-bolt, or undrilled. They don't offer to drill for Fender's contoured heel.

(Warmoth bodies with contoured heels are much different than Fender's contoured heel and use the normal 4-hole pattern.)

So you'll have to drill your own if you go with Warmoth.
-----------------
If other makers offer that option, they already have the specs and are set up to drill that way.

Fender afaik have not issued the specifications for the offset neck plate.
It's perhaps about time that Warmoth considered offering the option as it has been around for over 15 years and is the method used on the American Deluxe, Elite and Mexican Deluxe ranges.

The simplest option would be to order the 4 hole neck drilling, fit the neck with screws through the 3 "standard" holes and drill the offset hole with a 1/8" drill through the remaining body hole.
Some of the Genuine Replacement necks Fender offer are pre-drilled with 5 holes to accommodate the alternative fixing method.

Guitarpartsresource has the dimensions here: http://www.guitarpartsresource.com/neckplates.html
Quote:
Screw holes are spaced 1-1/16"(27mm) on the left, 2"(50mm) on the right, and 1-1/2"(38mm) across.

As far as I understand, those are non-original parts, but the imperial measures seem to fit Fender's regular neck plate (with metrics, the conversion seems to be "close enough").

And a PS; the part number could also be 0059209000 (or 005-9209-000), that's what e.g. darrenriley.com uses. Don't know if it's a different finish (chrome/nickel) or just a change with different years.

Great info, thanks. And since its only the last three digits of the part number that changes, and i see on guitarpartsresource.com chrome ones vs nickel vs gold vs black etc... i bet the last 3 digits just signify the finish of the plate.

Jason with Fender provided this dimensional diagram to me earlier today. Note that the measurement of distance btw the two screws on the left side (1.142") is different than what is specified in the product description listed at guitarpartsresource.com (1.0625")

Honestly, to be 100% certain since there is a .08"/2mm discrepancy, since you have the plate in hand, simply measure from the edge of the hole to the edge of the other hole. That will be the same as the center-to-center measurement that you need for drilling.
