For those of us(including me) that actually like using the built in distortion in our amps I found out a trick with the wah. I noticed that my wah pedal was not making a very smooth wah sound when I engaged the amp's distortion. It sounded more like wa-tic wa-tic then wah-wah. I figured maybe it was the pot so I tried my friends new crybaby and it did the same thing. I though that I couldn't use the built in distortion and had to buy a distortion pedal(all I had at the time was a boost pedal).

I always had the boost pedal after my wah in my effects chain and a few days ago I tried putting the boost before the wah and engaging it and then using the wah. BINGO! The wah-wah sound was there! Later I might try putting another boost pedal after my wah and one before and see what will happen.

BTW this will work with any tube amp with built in distortion or drive. I have a Peavey Valveking 112 and I have tested it on a Fender Hot Rod DeVille and a Marshall JCM 2000 TSL 122.
