Hi, really trying to get my hands on a Fender strat with serial no beginning MN81 - I believe was was produced 1997-98. My original one has gone missing and keen to replace like-for-like.

It was red, marled scratchplate. Any help appreciated. Struggling to attach a pic to this

It's no wonder this post hasn't been answered.
First of all...it's a "tall order", and I wish you luck.
Second....I looked up "marled", and as a Noun; it is a fertilizer...and as a Verb; it is a technique in rope tying and/or preparation.

Now; if you meant "marbled" (and missed the B), I'm a little less confused...because I suppose one could assume that means either Tortoise or Pearloid (both can be pictured in their own way as having a pattern someone might see in an actual marble).

At any rate, good luck on your search, and sorry to hear you've got a guitar gone missing.

It's not a very answerable question, to say the least. And the OP's first post & last visit were both on Mon Dec 03...

Anyways, the archived Fender price lists are here: https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/art ... 1968-2010-

So good luck hunting for the candidates. The first thing that the 'marled' (whatever it is) pickguard brings my mind is, it's either a special edition of some sort, or a mod - both would make the search even more difficult.

This must have been a "new user delay"... I check "unanswered posts" in addition to the Strat forum nearly every day and I've not seen this since this morning.

Regardless, yes, this is an extremely tall order, and it borders on a WTB post, since the resolution of the problem is ultimately to obtain the described guitar.
