I am trying to install Fender Locking Tuners (PN: 0990818100). They are different sizes and indicated of each with Roman Numerals. I have the following:
- 3 Tuners have a (II) on them.
- 2 Tuners have a (IIII) on them.
- 1 Tuner has a (III) on it.

There are no instructions. Which tuner goes with which string? Thanks!!

Tallest ones nearest the nut, shortest furthest away from the nut.

With the 0990818100, you should have three long ones for EAD and three shorter ones for GBE.

I think those markings are just random stamps for the machine which stamped the part at Ping factory.

This is correct.
First time I ever dealt with locking tuners, I didn't know a thing about them. I was taking locking tuners out of a guitar I was selling. Never really paid attention on what position I took them out of, or even the staggered sizes. When I went to put them in another guitar, I noticed the Roman numerals before I noticed the height differences. So I installed based on numbers (can't remember if I went high E to low, or vice versa), and once installed I noticed height difference and was WAY off.
I think I watched a YouTube video before I got it right.
