Hi
1)
I know action (string height) is a personal choice
i was used to play other guitar with jumbo or extra jumbo frets
now i play only stratocaster and now with medium jumbo frets

i have set up the action to 1.7mm or 2mm on all strings but they seems to low
may i know which are good settings ? at least i can try them and change to find the right for me

2)
and my second question?
about the relief and the truss rod , should i press the low E at the frist fret and the last fret always high E and check the thickness between the 10 fret and the string?
i have seen somebody press the first fret on the low E and around 17 frets where the neck "meets" the body

thanks
best regards
Sorry for my poor english , i try to do by best

The suggestions from the manufacturer are simply a starting point.
Every person has a unique playing style that will affect what is "correct".
If you hit hard, then a low action will buzz, and it will be worse with light gauge strings.
If you play "finger style" classical and folk music, you can perhaps run the action lower.

For neck relief, I prefer the bare minimum.

Where have you measured the string height from?
The fretboard or the top of the frets?
The height should be measured from the top of the frets.

Relief adjustment for 7.5" fingerboard radius - 0.012" (0.3mm) at the 8th fret, string being fretted at the first and last fret.

I have no idea. I just lift the saddles until I don't perceive any buzz or excessive choking and "level" off the strings to the correct radius once I hit that sweet spot.

There are so many variables, string gauge, playing style, trem float, preferred tuning etc. that I don't think you can specify an ideal height for everyone.

You either start with the action too high and come down until is causes problems and then take it up a bit or too low and take it up until it stops causing problems. I tend to start with it around the Fender specified height and end up going up a bit generally.

Me Too, I set mine just a tad above fret buzz.

Make that 3 of us.
I adjust the truss rod so the neck is perfectly flat without string tension. I make sure my nut is filed to allow my strings to sit flush with the top of the nut. I string it. And I adjust the saddles (height and intonation) as low as humanly possible without fret buzz.
What ever the 'measurement' ends up to be...it is what it is.

Pickup height I measure to Fender's suggested settings...and finely tweek to my ear if need be.

I'm not aware of a Strat with 24 frets but the same rules apply. Just ignore the extra frets - they are only there for posing value after all.

Even Steve Vai recognises that there's not much money to be had up there, so he doesn't spend too much time noodling in that vicinity :D

Yep... An off-the-shelf 24 fret neck would typically be set up for a 25.5" scale, same as the Strat.
To bolt-on a 24 fret neck on an unmodified Strat body, the scale length would be somewhere around 28".

The upper frets would be usable at that scale, of course, the normal part of the neck would be more usable if you have fingers like John Entwistle :D

The HM ("Heavy Metal") series had Strat models with 24 frets. Most HM's were MIJ, but they also made some in the US.

Warmoth has 24 fret Strat necks. Like 22 fret Strat necks, those have an extended fretboard that hangs off the end of the neck and floats above the body, so you can mount them on a normal Strat body. (Although the 24th fret is where the neck pickup's polepieces are, so you'd need to move or eliminate the neck pickup.)
