Hello, and welcome to my first post. About 7 or 8 years ago, I bought what I thought was an American Strat body. I can't find the paperwork so I'm wondering if anyone here can identify the body by the markings. Please help if you can!Image and Image

More pics required for me to give it a good guess. With just the neck pocket and trem. cavity its hard to say for sure. There is no micro tilt in the neck pocket which would be unusual for most models and the markings don't appear to be Fender model identifying marks. The paint job also appears to me to be unique, maybe not.
Take a picture of the whole front, whole back, all body routes, bridge if there is one then maybe a model could be determined, at least maybe a country of origin.

Well thanks for the added pictures, not sure I could answer your question definitively still. If I were to guess and I am. It is a bit off in that it has 12 screw holes for the pick guard... There's that missing micro-tilt, which suggests it may be a model based on a vintage guitar series. It has S-S-S pup routing and a worm mark in the bridge route(kind of suggests a '54). It appears to be a two piece body to me, which is indicative of a higher quality model. Is it Nitro or Poly clear coat, I see checking in the black between the bottom horn and knob area?
It could be any of these I think:
54 re-issue or limited run
57 re-issue
62 re-issue
Classic series 50's
Classic series 60's
Sorry to not be more help, perhaps others will join in the process.

It is not a re-issue '54, '57, or Classic Series '50s -- the control cavity has the "shoulder" that was added in 1958 to accommodate one of the extra pickguard screws common to post 1957 (and many 1958) instruments.

Not likely a MIM without shielding paint. Maybe a '62 RI? The hole midway between the middle and neck pickup is consistent with a '62, the extra hole matches the AmSTD.

First, thanks for the replies, and then I have some follow up questions:

1) Can we say definitively that it's a Fender body? Still trying to figure out what C19574 means...
2) The bridge pickup cutout looks funky to me, like it was cut out very sloppily - is this normal?
3) The upper screw hole for the input jack is uneven compared to the lower hole and I don't know if that is the way they usually look.

Thanks again!

I am thinking 62 Vintage Reissue. The shoulder for the 11 screw is there, the three tone sunburst and the channel in the pickup cavity are all hallmarks of the 62 Reissues.

No, but if it's not, it is a very good copy of a '62 RI. An aftermarket body, unless specifically ordered to match a '62 would not have the "extra" PG hole above the pickups, and rather than having the "worm route" would simply have had a deeper route for the bridge.
Were it not for that extra hole, I might be inclined to say that it could be a StewMac 3TSB pre-finished body. I built a Partscaster from their 2TSB and it fooled more than one luthier.
But I really do think it's a '62 RI body that someone put a modern style PG on. The "Extra" hole does not look well used like the other holes do.

Normal. I don't know why, but rather than route the full pickup area deeper, they cut a groove to allow the wiring from the neck and middle pickups to pass below the bridge pickup.

Not uncommon. It really is a modestly poor design. The contacts and/or plug often contact the side of the cavity causing problems. The plate is often offset downward to compensate... the correct fix would be to angle the top wall of the cavity away from the opening as it descends... but that would require a separate operation... much easier on modern CNC machinery than it was in '62, but it still is not done.

The stamps in the neck pocket are consistent with the ones used by Fender.
It is possible Fender could confirm the body is a '62 reissue from 1997-8. I would contact customer services and ask if they can confirm the part number 19574 is correct for the 3 color sunburst '62.

I would agree w/that and add that the part # sequence could also be from the CS with a 19 being the indicator for them. The service diagrams available online only cover the # since 2000 as far as the models that it could potentially be and the CS doesn't go back past 2013.

Possibly, not that it makes any difference on the value.
Even if it is a Fender body, it will never be more than the base for a very nice Partscaster.
