Hi there
I've just noticed that on my Strato 64 Custom Shop with Fender Custom Shop 69' there's the typical hum when not touching any metallic part of the guitar, as expected. Anyway, when I touch it, most of the hum goes away but there's still a low hum? Is it normal? Also, anytime I touch the screws or the metallic part of my 5 way switch there's a hum getting pretty loud. I've read that 5 way switch doesn't have to be grounded. Is there anything I can do to solve the issue?
Thanks in advance

The 5-way switch would normally be self-grounded through the pickguard shielding plate/foil, which in turn is grounded to the volume pot body.
There is no discreet ground connection to any of the terminals or frame.

It almost seems like the bridge ground is connected properly to the jack's shield, but the pot shell (and thus, anything in contact with the foil) is connected to the hot.
Would have to see the guts... perhaps the result of someone attempting to shield the body cavities and the input jack tip is touching the foil in the jack pocket.
