Loving my new strat but the bridge is chewing up my my palm.

Any suggestions on a good replacement that's smooth in the saddles and has a non threaded, pop-in trem arm?

You could try finding hex screws of appropriate lengths, or you could try these saddles, which are a minor redesign of the original part http://www.highwood-guitarparts.com/

The saddle is slightly grooved in the center.

Look at the curve under - it doesn't exist in the original design. This means that the Allen screws do not have to protrude above the saddle top edge, and yet there's a full range of adjustment over saddle height.
As a consequence there is no possibility of lacerating your hand on overly long Allen screws. There simply aren't any.

Here's a bigger picture for those that are hard of eyesight

The notch in the saddle is a reasonable thing to implement too.

^^^^ This
The screw threads into the bottom of the saddle instead of the peak.

It is a funny thing but some Strats can seem worse than others and it is also something you get used to.

My original Strat has cast block saddles. These made a very comfortable hand rest. I played a mates MiM with bent steel saddles and hated it.

Now I prefer the bent steel saddles so what has changed?

All my Strats are decked or hardtail, as a result the saddles are adjusted higher so less screw prejects. I make sure I have the right length grub screws - the screws in the top and bottom E saddles should be shorter from the factory but aren't always.

If the screws project a lot you cun snip the excess off with pincers. Set the guitar up to your favoured saddle height and note any screws that project excessively. Remove any offending saddles from the guitar and snip off just less than the size of the excessive projection from the bottom of the screw. The screws are quite soft so this shouldn't be an issue with good pincers. The snapping will damage the thread so don't then to screw the damaged section through the saddle - screw the top up through the saddle don't try to screw the crushed thread down through the saddle as you may well damage the saddle.

It is easiest to replace the screws with shorter if you can get them altough they are like hens teeth in the UK.

All this said, if you keep playing the guitar, ignoring the pain, you will find over a period of time your playing style will change subtley or your skin hardens. Either way you won't notice it.

That is so simple and yet so clever.

Granted it solves a problem that I no longer find I have but it is still brilliant.

I thinks it's an elegant way of dealing with the problem.

I do not believe that those are genuine Callaham parts.
They are not listed on Callaham's site, and Callaham nickel saddles are $40 for a set.
Also notice that one of their stock photos shows the same "HG" embossing of the Highwood set, but the other images are plain... and even 3 of the 6 saddles in the one image are plain.
https://alexnld.com/wp-content/uploads/ ... 10c282.jpg

I'd bet you the cost of a set of those that they are Chinese clones of the Highwood.
They may be just fine, but I'd be worried about the quality of the plating.
