Iv´e just bought a new American Elite Stratocaster 2018 and many things are great about this guitar but I´m not that impressed by the shawbucker in the bridge. Its to weak and harsh and ice pick and at the same time its very easy muddy on strings 4 5 &6. Iv´e got a American deluxe telecaster that I love and my no1 guitar is a 95 american strat with 3 single coils and when I bought the new Elite I wanted something I could play southern rock and van halen and even metal if I wanted to. The shawbucker is not optimal for this and I wanna put a Seymour Duncan Screamin´ deamon in the bridgeposition but its hard to know how to wire with s1 switches and all that. I want autosplit in pos2 with the coil nearest to the middle pickup and the middle together. Now its full humbucker shawbucker and middle in pos 2. Does anyone know how to wire this?

Thank you for taking your time reading my question
Kind Regards
Twangyswede

This one's pretty close to the wish list; https://p4.zdassets.com/hc/theme_assets ... A_SISD.pdf

Just remember that Fender and Seymour Duncan humbucker wire colors may be different - check & modify as needed.

Thank you all and that wiring is perfect! The thing is I have decided this week that I´m gonna keep the shawbucker for a while. I changed the saddles on first e and second b to brass saddles and adjusted the pole pieces on the pickup and I played with it in a ensemblesituation loud this week and I must must say it definitely have some qualities. Its not a hardrock pickup but it cuts through the mix and is very articulate and musical and easy to play. I broke a string and changed guitar to a mahoganybodyguitar with two hotter humbuckers that sounds better at low volume but now sounded muddy and to easy to play and the shawbucker was much better to play at this volume in a situation. Maybe I´ll wait until the next shawbucker model comes and hopfully its a bit more voiced towards harder rock and a bit more output. The N4 noisless pickups in the elite strat are some of the best I´ve played, very very good singlecoil pickups and the shawbucker is very good balanced with them.

Its hard to find a good bridgehumbucker for strat if you want medium output clarity without being to trebly and a pickup that are suitable for hard rock and still great for blues. Im not sure Im gonna be satisfied with Duncans the screamin demon or pearly gates or JB even though these are good pickups just as the shawbucker. Maybe I will check out some of the older humbuckermodels fender had in hss strats.

Thank you very much
