I've recently purchased my own '71. It came without the original electronics, so I don't have the pots to help with dating. My neck does have the stamp, but the weird thing is that the serial number on the neck plate doesn't click with the sequence range for Strats of that year. According to most websites, 1971's have a serial number within the 300,000 to 340,000 range. My serial number is in the 270,000, which should have been assigned in 1969. I have found out that serial numbers aren't the best way to date a guitar, because of the supposed way they were assigned at the factory. What IS weird is that my serial number, which should have been applied in 1969, is on a three bolt neck plate. THAT is the Scooby-Doo mystery, because three bolt neck plates were not manufactured until mid 1971!! I have an oddball! The most likely explanation is that the three bolt neck plate was prototyped in 1969, and one of the neck plates wasn't used until 1971. Anyway, here are a few pics:

In case anyone was wondering, she came with some Fender SCN hot noiseless pickups, but I have replaced them with a set of Fender Custom Shop '59 pickups. They have a great bass response.
