I recently purchased a new Player Series Strat. I switched out the factory strings with Regular Slinky 10-46 strings. The back of the floating bridge is now almost a 1/4" off the deck whereas before it was at the recommended 1/8". Is this going to cause any problems with the springs and neck?

The guitar needs a setup. Changing string gauge changes the string tension, and at the very least, one needs to check the nut slots, relief, action, intonation - and that trem height you write about. (Trem springs giving in can hide truss rod adjusting needs - and I'd guess your action is high with the trem up…)

Your question suggests you don't have very much experience with Strat setups.
IMHO, a very good way to learn is to let a pro do the setup once ("initial setup for a new guitar"), then tweak it yourself - if you keep notes on what and how much you adjust, it's easy to return to previous.

The longer route is to learn with setup guides, like this: https://support.fender.com/hc/en-us/art ... -properly-

Try doing a decent setup yourself by all means - you might well be happy with the result. I was for donkey's years.

But IF you can find a good tech, I'd pay them a few quid/bucks/euros to do it - you won't be sorry!

Cheers - Peter.
