I recently bought this strat for arou d 100 at a swapmeet, but im not so sure if its an american made. https://m.imgur.com/a/idaxeJ5 From what i can tell, it has a micro tilt mechanism and appears to have alnico Vs pickups. Id love to know if this thing is authentic before trying to restore it. Thanks

for $100, if the pickups work it seems it would be worth putting it together. If nothing else put it together and enjoy it, if you are not certain of it's origin then just keep it as "your's" because you did the work.
My MIM is definitely not Amer (I bought it new) but it is still worth the time and money I have put in it just because I enjoy it that much more.
Looks like there is a barcode number in there, send it to Fender and see what it is.
I will say I thought the USA ones had the serial number stamped under the neck? I am not sure about that though at all.

Looks legit.
I do wonder at the numbhead that gouged the forearm contour in the name of dubious fashion.

IMHO, legit - and in my 'hood, 100$ would be dirt cheap for just the body & electronics, if all works or is repairable. (BTW, was there a neck with tuning machines etc; in the deal at all?)

Looks like an American (Series) Stratocaster, the sticker date would make it a 2006 model. If Mr. Schwartz would still be active on the forum, he might be able to tell who N.L. is/was. (Hi, Rob!)
The barcode number fits a solid color (like it says in the neck pocket; "SOL COL"), the last three digits (795) would make it a Chrome Blue if the 2006 is right.
The pickups would fit, too. Plus the "sort-of-reverse" wiring (color coded to ground, all whites to switch) is not unusual with that period & model.

I'm with the others in not seeing anything which makes me think it is anything other than legit.

It sounds like it was a blinding deal even considering the butchery to the arm relief. Well done.

It's not fake .... but it is broken.
That's not what "heavy relic" looks like.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Well, an angle grinder is seldom the right tool for guitars...
But let's give the previous owner the benefit of the doubt; maybe a big piece mysteriously chipped off the body and we see a work-in-progress stage where the base is prepared and waiting for a repairing piece of wood.

That's one option.
You could do something like Dan Erlewine did to a butchered 53 Tele, and cut and piece it out.
