You could try but I don't think it would achieve much.

A slight dampening of the tip with alcohol/lighter fluid/switch cleaner might do more but don't use much as waxed/potted PUPs may suffer otherwise.

It isn't something I have ever considered myself.

You should be careful when cleaning pickups to not use steel wool or other ferrous material. Tiny metal pieces can be sucked in by the magnetic pull and ruin the copper wrapping inside the pickup, rendering it useless in some cases.

And don't over-oil the neck.
If it's maple, it needs no oil.
If it's PauFerro, it needs a quick wipe on/off once a year at most.
Do not pour it on so it puddles, that's way too much.

Dunlop65 is a good product, just don't over-do it.

Cleaning the tops of the poles will have no impact on noise (as far as I am aware as I have never done it) but may other things will including:-

Leads
Light fittings
Other electrical appliances
Phones
Where you stand
Switch position
Whether you are touching the strings or not

+ 1000

Guitar volume to 0 and you hear noise ; Look to the amp, effect pedal..
Never use wallwart universal power supply for pedal; it is noisy.
Try another guitar.

don't rule out a bit of corrosion on 1/4" jack..
my car guitar gets a bit wet in rainy times when I open the trunk.. had to use contact cleaner and a q-tip in the output jack,,
came out a bit rusty.. but connection is better.

You probably have a going bad guitar cable, as you store/plug/play it twists and the ground usually starts to fray/come apart. As the ground weakens the noise level increases. When it becomes unbearable, repair or replace it. However the newer cable types can be a bit harder to diy repair.

hi
may i ask you what do you mean for Leads ?(do you mean cables ?)
Light fittings google translate it in home lighting system , is the translation correct ?

but may I ask another 2 questions ?
1) is the guitar shield?

2) I have watched several video on mim stratocaster , and in many video there is an advise to replace the guitar 1/4" jack , they said it's really very bad quality , do you agree ?
what parts will you change in a mim strato outside the pickups?
thanks , really appreciate it

it wont be shielded from the factory, that is one of those "do it yourself" adventures.

Does it make a difference? meh,, not really sure. I have one shielded that I did a long time ago and a newer strat not shielded. I'm not convinced it significantly reduces the noise strats make. maybe a bit, but it's still there.

My guess is, you're just noticing over time, with different amp settings, the typical "hum" single coil pickups generate. turn side to side when standing near your amp, you should hear the hum get less and then more as your position to the amp changes as you turn/swivel

that is normal. it's just what single coils do. get near a TV or PC monitor, or some certain kinds of lighting, and it will just get louder.. ya learn to live with it.

regarding "bad" quality of the jack, much of it would depend on how old this is, a newer one, like bought new in the last year or two, I wouldn't think the jack would be total crap (I could be wrong, others can say maybe)

changing the jack is very easy, but you do need a soldering iron, some solder, flux, and know how.

It is not good for a life like a Switchcraft brand but if it hold tight your guitar cable, it is alright, keep it
