That's an interesting looking switch.
How robust is it?

My second electric was an Aria Pro II TS 500. Two double coils and switches to coil tap and phase shift along with a 5 position tone switch. Just about every possible tone known to man and almost unworkable. Half of the tones just sounded naff so you had to juggle all of this extra switching just to swap the thee or four tones that you use.

I actually enjoy my Teles over my Strats because they have less tones to choose from. Bright, a bit muddy and mellow, properly woody. Job done.

I think that Tone Cards came and went is an indication of their usefulness.

I wish you all the best with your endeavours. It is certainly a neat solution (to what may or may not be a thing) but (as they say on Dragons Den) "I'm out".

Too busy for me...maybe in my younger "experimental" days I'd have played around with it, but after 37+ years of playing, I have found my sound and like to keep things simple. Even with effects pedals, I set them and forget them---they are either on or off. And my favorite amp: Fender Pro Junior (volume never gets touched, tone never gets touched) is either on or off. Heck; 95% of the time I play my Strats in the middle position.

I've never heard of 'Dragons Den' so I'll quote John Sims..."I'm out".

To your question Chris: very robust, for a prototype.

That is a great idea, but as other comments above, not for me.
It will be a semi-limited market... but also a market willing to spend a fair amount for those options.
In the 80s, I put together wiring options that, as indicated above, provided every option known to man.
On the H-H models, guess what I used? Yep... I never used anything that wasn't available on a stock 1970 Les Paul.
Split coil 'buckers don't sound like true single coils, and for the most part, I just never cared for the thin out of phase tones.

Today, I'm happy with an S1 or Toggle that allows me to run the Bridge and Neck together, or all three.

I'd be interested to see the wiring in a guitar, looks like it could be tricky as a DIY project and would have to be sold w/ a new scratch plate.
The video could use an install teach.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

I am assuming the video shows a prototype with the mounting plate removable for testing/rewiring.
I would hope the production model would use standard screw spacing and only require widening the slot... or have an optional plate available pre-cut.

Effects, soundboards, land-mines...

More talented (imho) is to concentrate on the notes, not the sound. The sound can be perfect with one kick for every fool, the perfect notes will last years.

I agree entirely.

I know people who line up gear "...because that's what XXXXXX used on YYYY." but have little or no idea what to do with the kit once they have it. Do they sound like "XXXXX on YYYY" not in the slightest because they can't play "YYYY". All the great guitarists sound like themselves no matter what they have hung around their necks.

With 40+ years of pedals, multi effects, digital processors and goodness knows what stashed about the place I am still happiest with an amp and a guitar. Chasing "Tones" just gets in the way of playing.

I'll concede that, when playing covers in a covers band, if you play numbers with a distinctive tone/effect/gimmick you do have to try to mimic that to get a reasonably authentic version of the song.
