Nothing new, all truss rod work the same *and need same kind of adjustment.

Elite ; it is just the nut look different

* short answer; there are bi-flex and sigle rod truss rod ; same as you need to turn CW to tightened the truss rod, CCW to loosened. Like any nut on a bolt.....

The "spoke wheel" truss-rod nut is accessible from the heel joint.

Only if he doesn't have the skills to adjust the neck relief.

In that case a proper setup from an expert luthier is required.

I have adjusted more truss rods than I can remember. The only real concern was if a special tool was needed for the wheel. Nothing came with the guitar. It looks to me like there are holes on the wheel and I wondered if a particular tool was best for a correct fit. :)

I have not confirmed this but what I heard is that the holes are sized to use the trem arm.
The Elites use the knob-less pop in arms.
I think you're supposed to use the handle end.
Again, it's just what I've heard and I have not confirmed it.
It's worth a try.
Let us know if it fits.
It's something worth knowing.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

that was a good idea but the tremelo arm is quite a bit bigger and the 1/8" allen wrench is slightly to large. I just got out my small phillips screwdriver set and found one that fits the hole perfectly, I guess I will use it. the number onthe phillips bit is PH1
