Can anyone help me please :(

I just got my strat delivered and I can see this on the neck. I'm no expert so if anyone can tell me if that is a crack or is it a gran of the wood? It seems to under the lacquer, you cant feel anything when you run your fingers over it.

Should I be worried? Should I return it and get it exchanged?

Nothing in the pics seems alarming.

But (and I'm serious about this; I don't mean to be rude here) since you posted this in three different topics (*wink & grin*), you should ask yourself if you will ever be satisfied with this guitar. If there is even a shadow of a possibility of a doubt, return and get another.

This cosmetic detail won't affect playability.

Looks like the tree experienced some sort of trauma in growth and continued to grow there after. Nothing to worry about .....although. ....you may notice a slight dampening of the upper E third harmonic

I only did this because I thought there is something wrong with my posts not appearing, I didnt realise it takes a week for a post to be approved ;)

Thanks for the answers everyone! I'm very very satisfied with the guitar, plays like a dream. I was only concerned since I'm not an expert!

Nice camera work...good detail. As been said already, it is not a crack...it appears to be a defect in wood grain due to trauma to the tree; shouldn't affect anything, and actually add's character and uniqueness to your guitar in my opinion.

Looks like "figuring" to me. Line up about a hundred of those and you have a "flame maple" or "tiger maple" neck.

It's actually hard to find a maple guitar/body/neck without any figuring.

You should see the back of the neck in my Rickenbacker.

I don't think there's anything wrong with your guitar.
