Hello I have just joined this forum, nice to meet you all.
I recently purchased a Fender Classic Player 60's used Stratocaster.
I was very happy with the guitar and it played great.
However, I had an accident and dropped the guitar body first whilst it was in it's gig bag.
I noticed no damage apart from small hairline cracks at the neck pocked.
I have since taken it to a tech for them to have a closer look,
I am thereby asking you if you think the guitar will be okay?

Can't tell without pictures.
Surface cracks in the finish are common on the lower bout where it joins the neck, that is a very thin piece and often flexes enough to crack the paint.

Stick a fork in it, that guitar's done.

Tuning stability problems, diminished sustain, and structural integrity issues are bound to surface.

What did he/she say? A decent tech/luthier will usually be right.

What a pity, though. Accidents happen, but if the guitar's wrecked that's a bummer. Cheapest cure would probably be a new body.

Cheers - Peter.

I wouldn't be too upset, despite what some of the doom mongers may say! If there are only hairline cracks at the surface of the finish, the wood underneath is very unlikely to be seriously damaged.

About five or six years ago I managed to catapult my Custom Shop Deluxe Strat across a stage by stepping on the front of the guitar rack it was sitting on. It crashed into the drum kit and landed in a heap on the floor. Like yours, it acquired a couple of cracks in the finish around the neck pocket. It turned out the only real harm done was that the neck had shifted slightly in its pocket but that was easily rectified, and the guitar has played beautifully ever since.

I wouldn't worry. If it plays ok and sounds ok, then it is ok.

Remove neck , look if there is a crack inside the pocket.
If there is a crack, you have to glue it, if no forget it and play guitare

I agree. But would also like to add: STOP DROPPING YOUR GUITAR---LOL, just kid'n (not really), I know accidents happen. Although I've been owning and playing guitars for over 35 years and haven't once dropped one thankfully. Dropped a lot of picks (plectrums) though.

A couple of years ago, there was an article on "babylonbee", which is a religious-oriented version of The Onion... the article proclaimed that scientists have successfully removed a plectrum from an acoustic guitar!
