On 2nd look, I thought it might be a color balance issue in the image because it picked up on the edge of the body as well... yet the nylon case lid retainer is still black.
Go figure.

I love this guitar. It has no physical imperfections and a good set up. I like how smooth the neck is and the high-gloss fingerboard makes for easy bending. The two point floating trem works great and stayed in tune after about 90 minutes of playing. There is nothing cheap feeling at all about this guitar.

The new tone arrangement is an improvement. Tone 1 handles the neck and middle, while tone 2 adjusts the bridge. The guitar sounds great clean or driven! The pups are bright, quite and almost angelic sounding to me. It positively shines in combination with the middle for some serious quack attack. I could not put the guitar down. I think it is an amazing instrument for any price. I really liked my old Strat but I doubt that I'll be playing it much now unless I go to a rowdy gig. 8)

I had the same thoughts on it. Just loved the tone - couldn’t get enough of it. The satin finish back on the neck really makes it a smooth player. Totally agree on the tone control on the bridge PUP - makes a huge difference and makes the bridge much more useable.

And yes some serious quack in pos 2 and 4.

I was really surprised at home much I loved the guitar. Was expecting super high action and fret buzz etc - but it’s set up and plays like a $1,000 guitar.

I have an EC sig Strat - thankfully it really has its own tone and is a monster blues guitar and can seriously rock. I’m glad that it’s different enough from a regular Strat so I can still love it as well when I get one of these LOLOL

The EC Sig Strat is a great guitar, jasonsteffe, and the Player would make a nice addition to your collection. I give the Player Series Strat two thumbs up. 8)

The EC is a beast! Love the neck frets vintage feel and the versatility. I can play classic rock, metal and grunge and it just nails blues. But it doesn’t chime like you want sometimes. It has a mellow / warm tone that can get really drive an amp. I had the PUPs lowered and that brightened it up but not a chime like tone.

That’s why I’m looking to add an axe to do that.

That's true. I think I'll be changing it to all black, or all white??? I don't know yet but I think it would look better if it matched, too.

For the stock plastic parts an aged white pearloid pickguard would be cool, it contrasts the cherry sunburst/maple neck combination to perfection. The same case also applies to mint green.

That's an interesting suggestion. Thank you. I can picture the pearloid but not the mint green. I'll have to search for an example. I appreciate your ideas. :)

Pearloid for sure or a 1 or 3 ply white pick guard

Wouldn’t go all black unless you’re David Gilmour LOLOL

That look is really growing on me, and it was used on some of the transition models around 1976.
The mismatch is on your old one... knobs are aged and everything else is white.

Pearloid on a Blueburst... I need to get a better shot of it, this one is from probably '98

Mismatched plastic parts are common for a Stratocaster from that vintage.

The trend also applies to modern Fenders.
