I would go for a white pick guard myself but the black pops too.

I’ve also been eyeing the Classic Player 50’s in sunburst Gives you 57/62 PUPs, upgraded trem, Satin V neck for 800$.

The white pick guard pops a little too much for my taste. It's not a bad thought, though, and you may prefer this look. This is a sunburst but it is similar looking to mine which is aged cherry:

Yep, that’s what I’d go for. Has a vintage vibe to it. That’s the I played the other day. PUPs were super nice. Played thru a deluxe reverb reissue into the tremolo. Tube sweetness

I’ve long wanted a “Brownie” type guitar. Love ECs tones with Derek and the Domjnoes

Yes! I thought about that for future mods. I'm going to leave this one as-is, but I've said that before.

I paid $598 for this brand new guitar delivered. IMO, Fender did very well with this one.

Where did you get it for 598$?? That’s a great price

I bought it from Sweetwater. I buy almost everything from them so I have a good history. I've bought guitars, amps, all of my home studio hardware and software, and lots of other gear from them. I asked my sales rep if he could do any better for me and that's what he came back with. It doesn't hurt to ask because you never know if they have some wiggle room. Sweetwater is, by far, my favorite online source.

Okay, now you have me thinking again. Thanks a lot. Maybe, all white or all black would be better. Just when I thought I had one that I was going to leave as-is. :?

It just arrived but I am going to let it acclimate to the A/C in my house for a while. It's been out in the near 100° heat of AZ. I'll post some at-home pics soon. :D

I haven't unpacked it yet. I usually wait 24 hours but I may cut that short because I am anxious to play it. :D I'll let you know what I think soon. :)

Thought the string tree was different from your pics, is it some kind of roller?
My eyes aren't what they used to be.

That's just a regular stamped string guide.
I'm not sure that Fender makes an actual roller, but they do make a type that looks like a roller.

Thank you for your great input, Rich!

Here is a closeup of the string tree. No rollers as Rich pointed out.

This is her in a HSC that I've had laying around for many moons. I put new strap locks on her.

Nice to see that case put to good use, and nice to see the new axe get a deserving case!
Is the interior faded from black to purple, or is that the original color?

I finally sprung the buck-fifty for a Fender ABS case for my American Special. Nice and light... debating whether to get another one or stick with the original plan of a G&G for my Antigua partscaster.

That's strange, Rich. I didn't notice that the interior looks purple in the picture, but it does. It's actually dark black. Congrats on your new case. It's a nice one. I would have bought one but didn't have the buck-fifty.
