Hello there... it's my first time going in straocaster forum...

I'm here to ask about my Stratocaster neck...
6 years ago I bought a Black American Standard Stratocaster, I think she was 2009 model from the serial number from the back of her head... I haven't played much since then because of how my life is and she just sleep there in her hardcase...
Lately I decided to play some music again and I noticed something of her neck (just beside the nut). It's kinda bulging like a tiny little dot and when I see it, there is something different there...

Should I worry about something like that? Or is that completely normal??

Thank you so much before, and I am so sorry if there is already a thread like this... cheers~

Guitars age, just like players do.
But at the moment, I see nothing alarming.
If you feel the need, that kind of small knicks can be fixed - google 'drop fill guitar finish instructions'.

If I understand what it is ;

I fix a big knick with a very damp piece of cloth.
You may leave the cloth very damp and for many days where is the knick.
Tempered water maintained wood will expand and regain is shape

If, as it appears, this mark isn't where your hand goes, surely it's not a problem?

Where I have my guitars on wall hangers, they exhibit small marks in roughly the same place. I suppose it might bother some, but not me. Incidentally, my wall hangers are home-made, using round bar covered in neoprene tube at least 3/8" diameter.

Cheers - Peter.

In my book, I know precisely what that is. It's called "character" or "mojo".

Something that comes slowly throughout the life of a player's guitar and can't be entirely faked by relic jobs whatsoever :lol:

If it doesn't affect the guitar at all, leave it alone. We collect scars along the way, and so do our guitars.
