I'm thinking of buying a classic 60's or a classic 60's player strat. One of the differences is the fretboard radius 7.25 or 12 inch for the player. Can anyone tell me which is best for playing barre-chords or for soloing,....I'm a little bit of a beginner and I could use all help concerning playability!

Go with the Classic Player 60's. It's got better electronics, two point tremolo, unique Custom Shop features, and a few other things over the Classic Series 60's. Check out the spec's page. Also, I would go with the 12" radius, but that's just me. Good luck!

I own a Classic Player 60 and I really happy with it.
For me it's no problem with barres and bendings on this guitar.
The best is you check the guitar out in your nearest Guitar Shop if possible.
If it feels good to you buy it. A real good guitar, good quality and a good price.

Good luck :D

Some people find the 12" radius is a bit harder to chord. On the other hand, it's easier to play lead on since it's not likely to "fret out". You really should go to a local store and try the two radius's out first. Just to see what's most comfortable for you.

If your a begginer get the 12" radius one. Primarily for the reason stated above, 'it wont fret out' i.e when you bend notes the strings won't choke leaving you more time to concentrate on pitching bends correctly. It will be harder to play chords but will build up barring finger strength quicker.

all the best
