Good Morning,

I have an issue with the top (high) E and B string on my strat. I get feedback almost like a high pitched harmonic either with clean or high gain tones. I changed the strings and made sure they are wound 3 or 4 times round the posts, nothing seems to be vibrating around the bridge area.

I use a mustagn gt40 amp and tried another guitar and it was fine so I have ruled out the amp.

Pickup height seemds to bewithin spec, any ideas?

Thanks

If you pick the 3rd string between nut and tuner, is that the sound? I get that, and always fit a 3rd/4th tree.

Just hazarding a guess...

Cheers - Peter.

I will try the pickups first.
The sound is a bit like playing yhe string between the nut and the tuner but higher pitched.

Why don't you check intonation first ? You'll see if is right or not. Easier than adjusting the pickups.

Why would the intonation cause a false harmonic?
Maybe if the node is "just perfect" and the pickup is too high, but I don't think intonation will move the node enough.

So checked intonation it was fine, screwed down pickups and big improvement. I mainly use position 1 and 1 on pickup selector, humbucker was main culprit. Thanks for your help!
