Hello everyone!

Can anyone help me?

I've recently inherited a beautiful guitar from a family member. He was an active amateur in a local band and received it himself as a gift from his fellow members after retiring through arthritis. He never used it other than a few jams in his bedroom after which he put it away to gather dust.

He's passed it on to me as a keepsake.

It is a rare (in the UK we believe) Stratocaster Deluxe Plus (Made in USA) in an original Fender flightcase. Red and white with a maple neck. Absolutely pristine, beautiful machine.

All I'd like to know is an approximate year of manufacture. I am genuinely interested, and NOT in the least bit interested in it's value!! We think it may be mid-80's?

Serial number on the front of the neck is E462224.

So as above, can anyone help?

Thanks in advance folks!

According to The Guitar Dater Project, "Your guitar was made at the
Fullerton or Corona Plant (Fender), USA in the Year(s): 1984 - 1988"

I will second that are they Lace pickups? I no in the late 80's they made a Deluxe Strat that had Lace pickups in them for a couple of years

This is a Strat Plus Deluxe...by definition a Strat Plus carried Lace Sensors and, depending on the model , they differed. The basic being Gold Lace. The Strat Plus Ultra had a blue neck, a silver middle, and a red bridge.

Unless my eyes are playing tricks, from what I can see, the bridge pickup in that photo looks like it has blue lettering on it.

Doc

......also, the lock down Wilkinson roller nut.

I believe the early design on the roller nut had a lock down. Nothing to do with the Floyd trem system.

Doc.
