Haven’t seen many of these around, and none on these forums. Fender rep told me only around 5,100 produced. Got lucky and ran across this one and fell in love. Anyone else have one, love to see them.

Sweet. There was one at Sam Ash when I bought my AmSpecial. Wife tried to talk me into it.
Matching strap from Dunlop:

"Authentic Hendrix"......that cracks me up.

I was there* and that's not an accurate replica of the Strat he destroyed. That guitar was a '65 -- narrow dot spacing at the 12th fret, "transitional" logo.

(*at the Monterey Pop festival, twelve feet from stage right on the night that Jimi played)

Arjay

Wasn't sure... I snagged it from PB, but I have a script on Firefox that bypasses the PB sabotage.

The strap is cool!

Amazing that you were there -- can you see yourself in the movie?? As for it not being an accurate replica, that is okay ... I am sure it has got the ever-present Hendrix-Fender mojo!

But surely you can't remember any of it...???

Cheers - Peter.

We came across one of these at the pawn shop a couple of weeks ago. Pristine condition. I doubt it was played at all. Not a scratch. $800 Canadian (about $550-600US) with case. They are listed on the net for $1299 up here new. Wanted to buy it, but couldn't see myself showing up to the jam with it. They would laugh at me (middle aged, working class white guy here lol). But would have loved to have it. It's gone now. Hopefully it found a good home to someone who appreciates it. Who ever pawned it, I betcha he got $300-$400 for it. Sad. Must have been desperate.

Yikes... Is the exchange rate that bad again? They're $900 here... one of the cheapest Artist models (being MIM)
Personally, I'd rather have... for the same price... the regular Hendrix signature model with the reversed bridge pickup and headstock... which is where the sonic difference is in the "flipped Strat" design.
Kinda funny, but at Cal-Jam II, Joe Perry played a 3-tone burst lefty Strat flipped to righty.

I agree on both points. The main issue with anything that distinctive is it only looks at home when playing the living daylights out of Hendrix covers. Do you go with the jacket and affro to complete the image? (There is an Asian guy on YouTube who does exactly that - I admire his enthusiasm but feel he needs to practice more to become as good as he thinks he is)

You really have to be properly good for people to see beyond the "Hendrix Wanabe" label when you sling one of them around your neck. If just for using at home/hanging on the wall and having "Happy Hendrix Thoughts" then solid. It is a lot of money for an ornament though.

All that said - It is a really nice looking guitar and (given the money) I would be more than happy to hang it on the wall/use it at home and have Happy Hendrix Thoughts. And, as with any distinctive special, well kept it should appreciate (long) in the future.

Just got the strap guys, I haven’t been this excited about playing guitar in a long time.

If I’m ever lucky enough to gig out again she’ll be right there with me, strap and all. :)

Nice suggestion on the strap, CB91710. It looks great with the guitar. It's not an exact replica but it is purdy. Congratulations and I'm glad you are happy with it.

It's very cool that were there, Arjay. It must have been outta sight!

That probably applies to most of us :D

Absolutely agree. Even with my own collection... My AmSpec is my current primary, but I think my G&L S500 will always be "#1" (even though I haven't had it out of the case in 10 years).
But my Partscaster will be a tribute to my '78 Antigua.. and I've considered buying a wall-mount sealed case for it.

I don't know, it might well have done for me years back. I now just tend to feel frustrated that I'm not better than I am. Looking back on it I am stunned I had the gaul to do what I did, obviously the arrogance of youth.
