What's you favorite "custom" color for a Standard or American Standard Strat? (Way back when, you could buy a Strat in any color you wanted as long as it was sunburst. Later they came out with a bunch of solid colors, which they called custom colors)

If it were possible I'd get the same paint that I did on my custom Harley which is a black base, blood red marbelized over the black base, three coats of red apple candy, and three coats of clear. AWESOME looking paint man! I'm getting ready to do that to my Straight Six Strat.

But very seriously, why not? Care to post a pic of that Harley? Just been rereading Hunter S Thompson's book about the Hells Angels - I'm kinda in the mood for it.

Harley and matching Strat - man! Do a thread for that one, will you, please?

Answer to the OP: Fiesta Red. No, Shell Pink. No, Daphne. Or Sonic Blue... Dang...!

Opps.......I just noticed the colors weren't supposed to be sunbursts, just solid colors.......so I change my answer to Chrome Silver.

I put a guitar together for someone and we used a Shamrock Green Swamp Ash Strat Body and that green was nice I believe the dude paid 350. for the body and it was already finished from Warmoth I no the neck came from there. When I got it was just parts. Ever since then I have thought one day I am going to get a Shamrock Green Tele body a Mint pickguard and Nickel hardware.

I'm considering getting a MIM Strat, and dropping two humbuckers in it, and while I'm customizing it, seeing if I can get one of my friends who paints to do a camo paint on it, matching the USMC Woodland MARPAT patterned Camo. Pretty sure it won't be a pretty guitar, but it'll be a unique guitar for sure.
