Hi guys! I was looking for a YJM guitar to buy and I’ve stumbled across this one that looks legit.
https://reverb.com/item/12763421-fender-yngwie-malmsteen-signature-stratocaster-2003-vintage-white#&gid=1&pid=1

But one thing that caught my attention is the bullet truss rod on a supposedly 2003 guitar... it kinda looks like it was modified later because you can see some tips of wood on the edges of the hole... what do you guys think? Thank you all in advance who answers this thread!

Cheers,
Rafael

Which one is it? Your link goes to one that looks like it sold in January. There are two options given, one 2003 shipping from the US with a Rosewood neck and no bullet, and one from Japan with a maple neck and bullet that looks to be current production (SD YJM pickups)

I was at a music shop and picked up one of these and before even looking at the tag that stated “Malmsteen replica, not actual Fender” I knew it couldnt be legit. I was noticing poor definition on all labeling and stamping with letters and numbers.

Eyeball that stuff first.

Ya... And for $1500, just buy a new one for $250 more.
For $400, it's a fake.
