is there a real difference between the two models for which one is to be considered better than the other? the reissue '57 how close is it like sound and materials to one of that era?
Sorry for my bad English.

As I'm grumpy I might say - If you have to ask the question then the differences would be wasted on you....but then I am grumpy.

I have come to prefer the vintage trem over the two post, but my trem is decked. I accept a two post is probably better if you are a whammy waggler. I also prefer the bent steel saddles.

I have Strats with both neck radii and while happy with both the tighter vintage radius feels more comfortable, to me, although the action needs to be a gnats higher to avoid choking.

Personally, I don't see as many of the "improvements" over the years are much more than marketing hype and my general preference is towards the more vintage specification guitars.

I have one 52 reissue tele and some recent Strat. I like more modern 9.5 fretboard radius than the vintage 7,25.
Easier to play and more.
Why do you think Fender go to 9,5 radius and Gibson always have 10 (?) radius.

It is a matter of taste too, best is to test drive both

John, I asked two questions, but you did not answer any of them.
If I could have the two guitars in my hands, I would have probably noticed the main differences and I would not have asked. In any case I wanted to know the differences on woods quality, paint, finishing, accuracy, weight, ecc.

First question ;
1-Did you talk about the Vintage 57 made until 2012 or MIJ reissue 57 made in 1982 ?
I did not find any Reissue 57 Stratocaster build this year, neither American Standard
2- Each guitar player may have his answer

Second question ;
1-Who have a chance to play a real '57 ?
2- Who do a a\b test from both ?

Show a link to the '57 you are talking about

Well read my answer again.

With regard to quality Fender don't deliberately make one guitar better or worse than another.

The body on a Reissue is Nitro finished, which I also prefer, and in part accounts for the difference in price.

better is really a moot point,, as they are their "own" instruments in many aspects.

aside from build properties, finish, etc.. you need to play them for sure

I had a 57 Timemachine, Great guitar, but the small vintage style frets and the maple neck did not work at all for me.

I go with the standard, with the larger, more modernized size frets...

Could have been a double edge sword w/Radius and frets.

But even with some other "vintage RI" necks I've tried since, it's really down to what works for each player.

It's really a shame because the one I had was really nice, sounded great, and was a beauty, but those small frets just didn't go for me.

I think for anyone looking to compare something like a "Standard" to an "RI" I would advise that this detail is probably far more important than nitro vs. poly, and even the pickups that come stock w/it.

you can always change the pups, the frets... well. a totally different issue. just my 2cents on the matter, there's a lot more to it I suppose but that's where the rubber met the road for me and RI Fenders.

To answer your main question directly and effectively:

Vintage Reissue models and American Standards/Professionals aren’t meant to be one “better” than the other. They’re different in a couple of slight details, but they’re basically US made playable and lovable stratocasters.

It’ll be entirely up to the player which one he’ll like best.

Play both and read about them. Choose your weapon by touch and feel...

Bingo.
Strat, Tele, Jag, Mustang, blonde, brunette, redhead... none are really "better" than the other from a build quality standpoint.
All have their advantages and disadvantages, but none of us can tell you what YOU like.

Well, I realized that the two guitars I asked for are just "different".
Many thanks to all of you for your answer.
