With respect , I saw that but maybe he just wanted to try simple instructions, as I posted, to see if it actually worked before maybe paying for a set up
For all we know, he may be a complete novice at set ups , but following those simple instructions , anyone could do at least a passable attempt at seeing if it cured the problem without spending any money

Easier to set-up properly a Fender tremolo than install a Bigsby.
A novice ask how to or see a tech.
I give up

Well fitting a Bigsby was always going to induce high passion.

While I am not a whammy wobbler myself I am also in the "Why the hell would you?" camp. 50+ years of solid performance and being the preferred solution of the likes of Gilmour (who fitted a Bigsby at some time and then had the orginal Fender design reinstated - What does that tell you?) all points to the Fender design being sound assuming it is set up correctly.

Before butchering a perfectly good guitar I would first thoroughly look into setting up the original trem properly. From the comments above it sounds a lot like it isn't.

A Fender Stratocaster trem is vastly superior to a Bigsby. Sounds like there's something simple getting in the way or your's working correctly.

I could see putting a Bigsby on a Strat if it was a player who has been using a Bigsby on another guitar for years, and was used to the action of the Bigsby. Or, an experienced player whose main guitar has a Bigsby, and he liked to use a Strat occasionally without having to adapt to the (superior) Strat trem.

In short....don't do it.

I agree with most of the posters. You can't beat a Fender Strat trem system for most purposes, especially 50's guitar music. There is so much information (too much maybe) on the internet about setup and function (YouTube, Fender's site, etc) that anyone can properly set up a good trem system with no special tools or skills if 1) you follow all instructions exactly. There is a proper order in setup and each change affects something else and 2) the guitar hasn't been permanently modified in some way.

As someone said, first check to see if the trem system hasn't been decked/blocked. Some players like to disable this feature.
