Hi, I have a 1989 standard US strat, I swapped out the old pickups with a fender loaded pick guard with hsh configuration and a coil tap, it also has a push pull knob to turn on the neck pickup. It has a fishman powerbridge piezo and powerchip fitted with a switch to either have mag pick ups mag and piezo or the piezo alone. It also has a tronical robotic tuner. Everything is fully reversible and I have all the original parts, out of interest, what would the lot sell for? Thanks, Ronnie

Some of it would depend on where you live, Ronnie. In England, it'd probably sell for more £'s than in $'s in the States. But either way, I'd give more for it as a US Strat in standard trim without all the wizardry on it, and I expect I'd be in the majority. You'd be lucky, I'd say, to find someone who wanted that exact spec - and was prepared to pay extra for it. But you never know, I suppose!

Personally I'd put the Strat back to standard and flog the wizardry separately - I'm sure that'd give the highest yield. Have a look at eBay or similar for 1989 Strats, bearing in mind the condition of yours and theirs...

Cheers - Peter.

I agree with Peter 100%. I would suggest that Strat owners are generally a conservative bunch. With so many other makes catering for more unusual tastes you would get the best price selling to the majority by returning the guitar to standard.

That’s great, thanks for the advice, kind of what I expected to hear.

Cheers, Ronnie

Another +1 from the peanut gallery here.
In particular, the Tronical system is very polarizing. For some, it may be a deal maker, for many, likely a deal breaker. Either way, you aren't going to get your $300 back from it in the price of the guitar, you'll definitely get more for it separately. I have it on two guitars. I don't hate it, but I don't particularly love it, and I never used it for the intended purpose (alternate tunings)

It does sound like you've got a very nicely customized and versatile instrument. Any particular reason you're thinking of selling, or you're just tired of it and looking for something different?
