Hi I'm looking for a 57 reissue Strat with a c or d shape neck. Preferably black.
The only one I know is the Gilmour signature but that way too much. Budget is about £1500 max less would be better.

I have a black 57 resissue but just can't get on with the neck. (I play a les paul don't know if thats why )Love the way my strat looks. The tanned maple neck. I know its not about cosmetics but want it to look like the one I have. Love the old tuners and bridge not fussed as much on the headstock.

Alternatively I love the Olympic white jimi hendrix plays at Woodstock but would love one like that but with a tanned maple neck. Is the such a model?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

For what it’s worth, I was on the hunt for a ‘57 AVRI a few years ago. I couldn’t find one in stores and eventually gave up on the idea.

Last year I decided to give in to my lust and bought a sunburst Classic ‘50s strat. I broke my own rule of never buying a guitar that I didn’t first try in a store. It seems that, for whatever reason, GC doesn’t keep any sunburst ones in their stores. I had to get it shipped from their warehouse. A mixed blessing, because you don’t know what you’re getting until it arrives. On the other hand, it will not have been pawed to death by the Saturday afternoon shred-monkeys.

Well I struck gold on this one. When I went to the store to pick it up, I left smiling. It played great, looked great, and sounded great. The neck has a very soft V, barely noticeable. I prefer C necks as well, but I had no complaints at all about this neck. And last, but not least, the neck had that nice rich darker tint that is so important to the mojo.

The setup was pretty nice out of the box, but eventually I took it to a setup guy I’d found who has magic hands. This thing is top notch right now. The lust is over.

I highly recommend the Classic Series. I also have a Classic Series 60’s Jazz Bass that I love, so I knew the quality would be where I wanted it to be before ordering this Strat.

Would the new American Original Series fit the bill perhaps?

I just picked up an Aztec Gold American Original 50’s Strat yesterday. New. Put NYXL 10’s in it. Adjusted the truss rod to take some of the bow out, plugged it into my AC30 and it sings. Later today I am going to run it through my AC15. The nitro finish on the bidy and the neck is beautiful. They say soft V. It feels like a thick C until you get up the neck a bit. With the bigger radius its stellar to play.
