I'm just wondering if anyone knows, but I own a 2007 standard strat with the 2 point bridge. I also own a Jeff Beck strat with a similar bridge but I have noticed that the bridge plate on the JB is a slimmer piece of metal than the standard? They both have the same part number. I need a replacement for the standard and I'd prefer the slimmer version, but can't seem to find one on line in the UK other than one show who can't supply until May.

This might be a simple Q&A case like "different manufacturer, different specs", and I'm certainly not the forum's best expert on Beck Strats...

But since I love (solving and sometimes creating) mysteries:
Do they both accept the same trem arm? What year is your Beck Strat? Is it original, and a confirmed Beck on both neck & body?
And: pics, please...

My line of thinking goes back to roughly the Millenium era with Pluses & their threaded trem arms and such. I could be totally wrong.

Have you used a caliper to actually measure the thickness?

Or are you using your eyes or a ruler?

After the plates are cut to shape, they hand file and polish the edges. A slight rounding of the edges can make one piece look a lot thinner than another piece -- even if the plates were cut from the exact same sheet of steel.
-----------------
And as stated, when Fender receives sheets of steel it's possible one batch is a tiny bit thicker than normal, and another batch is a tiny bit thinner.

After cutting and smoothing, they then plate the steel. Typically copper plate as a base, then nickel plate, then chrome plating on top. Each layer can vary in thickness.

So if your bridge plates really are different thicknesses, most likely one of them just randomly had all the tolerances line up close to the minimum value and on the other all the tolerances were the maximum value.
