Hello to everyone!
In 2008 i bought a Fender American Vintage '62 Hot Rod Stratocaster from a shop here in Athens. They ordered it (as they said to me) straight from the official Fender retailer in Greece. The guitar came in my hands after several days with all the papers included.
After one month the brand sticker in the head of the neck started to unstuck from the wood. In a few days it was completely gone. I was young then and i made the terrible mistake of scratching it and completely remove it.
I enter the serial number in the official site of fender and it doesn't exist.
Is there anyone who can guide me about this matter.
Thanks a lot and sorry for my bad english :-)[

We have international forums for French, German, Italian and Spanish Fender players.

A forum section for Greek musicians would certainly be helpful for many of us.

I don't think there is anything that can be done after ten years with the problem being known almost immediately.
You may have been able to take some kind of action against the seller if you had reported the problem in 2008.

And American '62 may well have had the decal on top of the lacquer because that is what they did originally back in '62, so this may not be something to worry about.

Many far more knowledgeable will be able to confirm if yours should have had the decal on top or under the lacquer.

AFAIK, it's decal on top of lacquer in a 010-0140(-XXX), Vintage Hot Rod ’62 Strat®.

Generally, I don't think that in 2008 the brand-new-looking fakes were very common, and I'd be surprised if those would have been available in a guitar shop in Europe. Even today, those fakes are mainly web shop items.
So based on the info given, I'm not very worried.

For forum help: pics, please.
And you could email Fender's Consumer Relations (via the support pages) with the serial number - that 'product registration' page database is not perfect yet.

Thank you all for your immediate responses! :)
I send an email to the Fender's Consumer Relations and I'm waiting for their response also.
I suppose that if it was a common thing back in '62 for the decal to be on top of the lacquer my guitar is ok.
Nevertheless, here are some photos for further confirmation:

The Serial Code (as I read it) is: V167gb4
Thanks again for your time!

How to ;
https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=109081

First you need to upload your pics to the internet. From a great forum member ; Jmattis

Use a pic hosting site (imgur, imgbb, flickr or such - avoid photobucket) or some common web framework like e.g. facebook, googlephotos - whatever you're familiar with.

The important thing is that the web site provides you with a pic address - that's the one starting with 'http' and ending in '.jpg'.

Copy the pic address, and use the IMG-command (visible when you write a message) on the forum.

Preview your post so everything is OK.

I don't see anything in the pictures which would make me think it is anything but legitimate......or  it is obviously a fake and I would be happy to take it off your hands for a token payment.

A very nice guitar indeed. I like it.

Looks legit.

The OP says he accidentally removed the stickers from the headstock and has now trouble to find the S/N.
