I have a Mexican sunburst strat, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, which, according to the serial number, was made in about 2009. I have yet to find any other finish like it: it is almostthe 60s three color sunburst, but the edges are a deep purple. It is not Sienna Sunburst: it is definitively purple. I will include pictures if anyone is curious.

But, my question is: given the rarity of this finish (I have searched far and wide and have found NO guitars exactly like it), could it be of more value than the average MIM sunburst strat?

It could be someone painted it themselves, making it less valuable. It could be any number of things, but pictures might help determine what it really is. In any event, there aren't many MIM Strats that are "valuable" or "rare" in any sense that would make them worth any more than any other MIM Strat, especially if the only difference is the color of the finish.

Usually the FSR/Special/Limited/Dealer Select and such models go in the same price category as 'normals'. Plus, in a MIM the difference would be relatively small - no retiring to the Caribbeans to be expected there.

For a 2009ish guitar, you could check the serial number with the Product Registration Database here: https://www.fender.com/product-registra ... ial-search
That should give you the model. If you email (via the support section) Fender Consumer Relations with the serial number, they should be able to get the original specs in more detail.

Fender has dozens of different burst finishes, but a purple 3TSB is quite unknown to me. So, a couple of pics would be nice.
