It looks really good. And as long as your proud of it, and it sounds good, then that's all that matters. It's so much fun to mod things.

Yes - Further my change of pickups on my MIM was not an anti-MIM thing. The Tex Mex pups I went to are themselves also MIM (and alnicos, as well). They are great ... nice pickups.

Your right about wanting to have a different look and so many Sunburst Strats out there they all seem the same. Maybe the reason I said leave the stock pickups in is becuase I forget I have a made in Mexico 70s reissue Strat in Natuaral wood and it has the Alnico pickups instead of the ceramics. Even though it's made in Mexico they still had to duplicate that 70 reissue guitar and remain true to a certain point so that's why mine has the Alinicos, but I also love the look of that Natural Wood color. I had a Black Strat back in the 70s and would be sick of that color again. Kind of see what you mean. But don't forget even if it is a (MIM) Strat, since it's a 70s reissue they still have to keep true to the 70s model and leave certain things from the 70s the way they were. (laughs) !

What I've done, when buying the guitars, is pick a guitar that might come with different features, right from the get go. All my guitars are stock, but two of them are a bit different, because they came set up a little different, which for me, made them "special".

I have a "72 re-issue Thinline Telecaster" that is not the regular configuration for a Tele. It has two humbuckers for pickups. Because of the semi-hollow body, and the humbuckers, it has a very unique and nice tone. It's all stock.......but for me it was "special", and why I bought it, even though I was not looking for a new guitar at that time. It's also a natural wood finish, which is one of my favorite looks.

It looks fantastic! I actually really like the white pups in the perloid there, it looks great, though the black would look fantastic too. Great job.

I have a MIM HSS and whilst it's still brand new and stock right now, I'm not against the idea of changing a few things around down the track to see what suits me best. It's my guitar after all, for me to play, and I think the ability of Strats to be so easily modified is one of their best features. Your playing and style as a guitarist will evolve as you grow and develop, and so should your favourite axe.
