The limitless value of the Forum: I've spent three decades misunderstanding the pickup arrangement on Robbie's guitar - till Gravity Jim and ZZDoc put me right. There's always more to learn!

I've just read that the mid pickup is moved closer to the bridge for Robbies easier use of his finger picks

Now does anybody know if that Strat George uses in The Concert For Bangala Desh is the one Clapton gave him?

Search on D065. I have never seen this poster before, but I found it when I was trying to find a bigger picture of what Pink posted.

Awesome site for Beatles fans! Great find. I wanted to post this image you found for everyone to see. Nice and big!

That's the one.

I had long been under the misapprehension that Robbie had a humbucker at the bridge, a year or two before anyone else did that. I'm just hoping that the people I've told that to over beer at the bar don't read this Forum and so see through my knowing veneer!!

Cheers - C

Credit where it's due. So, which one of us wants to go searching through hundreds of our back posts to find that thread, Doc...?

http://theband.hiof.no/articles/rr_musician_sep_87.html

Read the inset box on the right hand side of the page.

You also find the thread in Stratocaster Forum ca. June 3rd.

Now if you give me leave, I have a train to catch back to "Lawngeyelind".

Doc :P

Haha - brilliant! Nobody but you would have come up with that one!

By the way, it's about time you posted a pic of your own Sonic Blue double neck. That counts as a famous Strat round here...

G'night all - C
