Hey everyone, I had my MIA Strat setup, and during the process a little finish chipped off from the edge of a few frets. The spots were tiny, but I had a guitar shop touch the spots up with super glue just to prevent any further chipping. The spots were literally tiny, most people would never notice. The repair job turned out amazing, and the spots are absolutely unrecognizable. I found one fret that missed the touch up, and I thought about repairing it on my own, the amount of exposed wood is probably the size of a pin head (photo attached). I’ve read up many articles on the process, but I’m still initimidated and nervous. First off, does it even require any repair, or should I let it be? Second, would you recommend Stewart MacDonald’s medium #20 super glue with the Whip Tips? And Third, how can I safely sand and polish the small repaired area without affecting surrounding areas? I considered using green painter’s tape to isolate the area that needs sanding, but I read some posts about even painter’s tape adhesive causing damage to the finish (maybe the wrong tape was used?) Anyhow, I’d appreciate any advice or input. Thanks in advance for everyone’s time.

I wouldn't bother myself but, if I was inclined to do anything, I would probably just nick/steal/perloin some clear nail varnish from dearly beloved and dot that on the spot.

Didn't reach the pic - once again, Photobucket put me through such an ad/pop-up hell I closed the page before the pic loaded. So, just generally:

You can leave it, or take it back to the shop for the job (IMHO, they sorta should have done all the chips while at it, so negotiate this one for free or at least with a discount).

But assuming you go ahead with the DIY fix:
1. Get a scrap piece of lacquered wood, make a couple of chips in it, and practice. Don't skimp on this one.
2. Check this for instructions: StewMac Dan Erlewine finish fixes

Can't help you with the StewMac glue, I'm not familiar with it.
Painter's tapes differ - you need to test the one you use in an invisible place (like the neck end), if you're not sure. Don't leave any tape on for longer than necessary. (And you can try the diminished-stick-trick; press the tape on your shirt first, it picks up a bit of dust, which reduces stickiness.)
But the invisible-blending-of-the-fix-with-the-rest comes with (IMHO, only with...) practise & experience - sometimes the razor blade is enough, sometimes it needs very fine wet-sanding/Micro-Mesh/polish compound(s)/Dremel/felt pad, and so on.
