I've got one. I love the feel and overall vibe provided by a reverse headstock. I don't think I'll ever go back. I bought a '68 RI Reverse Headstock (aka Voodoo strat), but they couldn't officially call them Voodoo strats about a year into the Voodoo strat's production run because Fender lost rights to affiliate strats with Hendrix.

The problem with finding a reverse headstock is that most models with them are discontinued. The serial number on mine runs back to '97 but it wasn't released till 2000. And then they quit making them.

However, Fender recently released this: http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Fender-60s-Reverse-Special-Strat?sku=512595

The thing about this in comparison to the Voodoo Strat, is that the pickups aren't as responsive, it's Mexican made, the pickguard is one ply, the neck has a 7.25" radius and Vintage frets compared to the Voodoo Strat's 9.5" radius and Medium-Jumbo frets. Also, this strat I just linked has a poly finish as opposed to the Voodoo Strat's nitro finish.

Now none of this is necessarily bad, and is to be expected when you compare it to the Voodoo Strat's original price of $1400 (hard to find them for that on ebay, I got lucky). If you're on a budget and don't mind the smaller neck with Vintage frets, this seems like a great guitar. My problem with it is that I love the tension differences when bending notes with a reverse headstock. A small neck and vintage frets makes it a little more difficult to enjoy that bending.

In terms of looks though, I walked into GC one day and thought it was my guitar sitting on the wall from a distance. Visually, the only differences are that it has vintage tinted knobs and pickup covers (which most Voodoo strats have naturally now), and if you flip it over it's got a skunk stripe down the neck and a different neck plate.

If you're NOT on a very strict budget, I would recommend fishing out a nice condition Voodoo strat on ebay. It's worth it in my eyes. Just be careful with ebay sellers and try to be as confident that it's a good buy as you can be, before you make the move.

Personally I don't think I'll ever go back to a normal headstock. I'll always make sure to have at least one strat in my arsenal with a reverse headstock. I have no intentions on buying the strat that I linked here. I'll just build my next reverse headstock. I plan on buying a nitro finished body somewhere on the internet, and then going to Warmoth for the neck. They can make some beautiful, customized reverse headstock designs. And you get to pick everything about it, contour, radius, frets, wood types, everything.

I have a Squire StageMaster with a reverse headstock and don't really like it. It's painted beautifully in cobalt blue, but it feels wrong when I look over at the head.
