Thanks!
Oh yeah another nail in the coffin for those who think the ops guitar is aged cherry.
Look at the part number on the barcode 0059204 and compare it to the fender ash pdf you will see it is tadah...
tobacco! :D

You rascal you, barcodes schmarcodes... With this guitar, the stickers are clearly lying. They were probably put there by a group of fun loving but devious factory workers, with the sole intention of getting a bunch of us forum members debating endlessly over something really important. 8)

But seriously, all presented options are possible, and we will never be sure unless the OP checks the serial with Fender and reveals the results.
(And once again, I miss the times Mr. Black popped up and solved mysteries for us mortals. Like here: https://forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?p=363429 )

Edit: I'll raise j_j's 2004 Service Diagram with the 2010 version.
And as usual, it's wise to trust reality (= existing guitars) over Fender documentation; some changes were made before the diagrams were updated.

I ain't no gambling man in general, and I don't recall us making any bets specifically on this matter, but I'll send you six magic beans for comfort anyway. (Email, of course.)

I looked at Frontline 2008 and saw that indeed, Ash was not available in Cherry Sunburst for any Stratocaster, which makes the laquered over sticker with the Cherry burst paint code even more strange. There’s definitely a story behind the two stickers, and I’m certain I’ll never know just what happened.

And to answer a previous question, it’s definitely a Deluxe, bought brand new with case candy and all. Serial shows DZ8xxxxxx. Original neck, original body.

Yeah I get it.
I think the deluxe ash has always been aged cherry 31 at least since 2004 and never just cherry .... :D
