Hi all,
I was hoping you guys could help me in choosing this guitar I am trying to purchase. It is for my boyfriend for Christmas, but the problem is I know nothing about buying guitars, much less used ones. I am looking to get him a 12 string Fender Stratocaster and since they no longer sell them new I found 2 used listings on reverb. I was hoping you guys could help me decide which is better deal in terms of condition and quality? And which one I should end up going for.

Here are the 2 listings:
https://reverb.com/item/6877591-fender- ... an-reissue

https://reverb.com/item/6173742-fender- ... lacid-blue

Thanks in advanced, any feedback and detailed responses are much appreciated!!

-Nina

You're an awesome girlfriend!

From the pics it's a toss up. Both look fine.

Price is virtually the same once you factor in $100 shipping vs free shipping.

The second one is from a music store. Somewhat less chance of undiscovered/undisclosed flaws, and more recourse if there's any problem.

Is it my imagination, or does the body on no.2 have slightly larger edge radii? Whereas no.1 looks more like a 90's Strat body; more squared off? May be just the photos.

I'd take the second, if someone wanted to buy me one!!! Lucky bloke!

Cheers - Peter.

I think it's more the lighting and photo angles that make the edge radius look different.

The Japanese contractors never really went for the '90s tighter edge radius.

(Glad to know there are other people that care about edge radius. Strats are supposed to be sexy, not severe.)

Great girl friend you are, both are nice, I like # 2 just because it from a guitar store and they say a little buckle rash on the neck plate, # 1 talks about dings, MHO a little scratch's on the neck plate is better than 2-3 littles dings here and there on the body

What a sweet looking guitar. The second one gets my vote also.

Admittedly, I didn't get a "vote", and it's because I just stumbled onto this thread. Too late for me now, because (according to the links), they no longer are up for sale.

What kills me; is Nina never bothered to come back and thank anyone that DID reply, or update those that took time to reply; on which (if any) she did go with.
Happens FAR too much on this site...and in my opinion---stinks.

I completely understand that some people just want a question answered, and don't plan to stick around and be part of the forum 'community' (and that's fine). But what ever happened to common courtesy, and gratitude?
Too much Narcissism and Self Serving these days, and it's really getting old.

And Nina; if you DO read this...I'm not singling you out or picking on you in any way....my comment goes out to ANYONE that has asked a question (that has been answered), and their "post count" stops at one.

I agree with you, way too many members come on once and never say hey thanks for the info that was given to them free of charge. If you look at the Birthdays on the bottom of the Board Index you will see a lot of joined one day last seen the same day they joined
