Nice rig, kinda what I do, guitar straight into tuner, and into amp, if my amp does not have reverb I insert reverb after tuner

Sweet.

I have more pedals than I could put a number to off hand but still seem to end up with just Strat and amp being the favourite. Even my THR gets played sans FX. The excellent TC Electronic clip on tuner even means I don't have to contaminate the purity of the the signal path with a tuner.

Good combination.
Enjoy.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

Thanks guys.

John, I agree, those TC Electronic clip ons are pretty cool. Had my eye on them for a while, may pick one up.

I have a BOSS clip on tuner and the TC Electronic - The TC is head and shoulders better, granted it should be as it was more expensive, but it was worth the money.

If a tuner does what it's supposed to do....isn't a clip on tuner, a clip on tuner, a clip on tuner?
I have a Fender clip on that I paid less than $8.00 for on sale....and it does the exact same thing as my Behringer pedal, and my Korg Chromatic...tells me when I get to the E, A, D, G, B, and E.

you would think they all pretty much work the same, but they are actually not all created equal...

I have three different ones, several planet waves headstock minis, a snark super tight and a fishman.

the fishman does is not as fast to read the notes as the snark, the planet waves are pretty good, but the snark ST seems to be the one that senses the pitch the best, and makes tuning a bit quicker.

The fishman is also a bit limited on how you can adjust the screen to see as your tuning.

all things considered, if I lost ALL of them, and had to replace, I think I'd start with the Snark..

I do like the Planet wave NS.. they are very small an discrete but the snark is still the easiest one to use.

Obviously not. Some are more sensitive, have a better display, better functions etc. TC Electronic tuners are polyphonic and the latest pedal also includes a buffer.

My BOSS clip on tuner can be temperamental subject to where I clip it on the head and will refuse to tune my low E if it is in the wrong place.

My favourite tuner is probably still my 30+ year old BOSS TU-12 though. Old school analogue needle, you know exactly where you are.

If you are happy with your $8 Fender clip on, no worries.
