Yngwie Nut

I have a pretty good idea what something like this might do to my tone but I'm just wondering if anyone in our community has ever actually tried one and what they thought.

Well I had one installed on my 70s strat ...back in the 70s..
I was pretty happy with it too but since then have never bothered.
It only makes some difference on open strings of course.
Bit different to the lsr that I have also tried and was reasonably happy with.
I think if your strat does not have an issue where the nut is due for replacement why bother though. :D

It depends on which country you are in. It does the same in the UK sending you to the UK front page. We can't get the "Build Your Own", "Spec Your Own", "Mod Factory" or what ever it is called either. Really frustrating.

My experiences are quite similar to j_j's.
I've tested brass way long ago - those things (among others) were in fashion when weight (or density) equalled sustain...

Fitting a brass nut is more work than bone/TUSQ. Functionality is OK; no complaints but then again, no fireworks either. Maybe the biggest difference I (imagined that I) heard was similar to zero fret guitars; on open chords, the open/fretted strings sound more alike.
I took a (slight) return to bone on my own guitars.

So, it's the 'you gotta try it yourself' advice, and the A/B; before/after comparison has the usual problems.

And sorry, I know I shouldn't but since your link didn't work for me either, I I just must:
Angela has Yngwie's nuts

And I cannot.
Go figure.
This different sites for different countries is really starting to wear thin.
