The other day I ran across this little rascal:

Apparently it was a real limited run of only six guitars. Do you guys have any information on this Texascaster? Pickups, neck profile and radius?

Strat body and neck pickup combined with a Tele bridge and pickup. That looks like a winner to me, so I wonder why Fender has not gone any further with this concept?

Never seen anything like it and with only 6 copies out there it’s not a wonder info is scarce.
Being that it also comes with a COA and given the asking price, I think one can safely assume it must be some kind of C/S (probably team built) limited run and if that is the case, nobody will be able to provide any info outside of the C/S, the original owner(s) who placed the order and any subsequent owner(s) whom may have been provided data.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

You do?!?

I think you might find that, as a conventional hard tail Strat looks better, and is easier to play, 6 examples of the above is perhaps 6 too many.

Last time I checked, a „conventional hard tail“ has no Tele bridge pickup, but hey, your mileage may vary...

Considering the plethora of available PUP's for Strats I would be stunned if there wasn't one that sounded like a Tele bridge PUP. That said, I don't know a great deal about Tele's. What is it about their bridge PUP which is particularly notable?

I can see that a traditional Tele Lipstick neck PUP might well be different but, aside the mounting lugs, how does the bridge PUP vary to those used on a Strat?

You might want to get yourself a decent Tele asap to check out what the fuzz is all about.
A Tele bridge pickup sound ist not only the pickup itself, but the combination of pickup, bridge plate and saddles.

Check this video out (go to 9:40 for the overdriven bridge pup sound).

I'm afraid I couldn't watch your suggested video all the way through as I found the guy way too annoying.

You might be interested in https://youtu.be/z4Ev9m3aKJ0

I have thought about getting a Tele a few times but, as I don't play Country & Western, have concluded I don't need a guitar which the Strat was designed to be better than. I don't like the shape of the headstock, it wont be as comfortable to play as the lovely Strat contoured body, the intonation is compromised and it will rip your fingernails off if you strum it in the wrong place.

I agree that it is a solid (literally) piece of guitar history, in the same way the Model T is a solid piece of automotive history, and I don't want one of them either.

Sorry, you obiously don't get the point about a Telecaster bridge pickup. That perfectly fine, but don't pretend you do.

And second, if you really think a Tele is just for Country and Western then you no clue what you are talking about.

Dude, you obviously have no clue what you are talking about.

Neither can a Strat bridge pup do what a Tele bridge pup does, nor is Tele a guitar only for Country and Western. Keith Richards- ever heard of that guy? You might as well ask Jimmy Page , Jeff Beck or Bruce Springsteen about their Telecaster experience....

Yeh that Joe Bonnemassa he knows nothing obviously.

And with regards to Jeff Beck funny how Fender produce a Jeff Beck signature Stratocaster not Telecaster. Would that be because he is renown for playing a Strat? I wonder why that would be?

Charming. So you introduce yourself to the forum extolling the virtues of the Telecaster in the Stratocaster area of the forum and then get upset if someone comes up with a contrary view?

And with regards to your less than polite comment regarding my previous post, if you were to read it properly, the key word is "produce"; as in the present.

I wasn't commenting on what Fender may have done in the past as they have put out some pretty weird stuff; including the bastard love child of a Telecaster and Stratocaster that was obviously so commercially successful that 6 were enough to satisfy the market.

Just for the records: You were the one coming to my thread with snarky and clueless remarks. So don't place yourself next to the cooker if you can't stand the heat!
