Hey all. I'm looking at a deal on a 1999 USA Standard Strat posted here-
https://www.kijiji.ca/v-guitar/barrie/1 ... nFlag=true
The seller says the previous owner replaced the neck plate and that's why there is no micro tilt hole on it. I've spent all morning doing my research and can't find another '99 USA Standard in this translucent red color. Is it legit or is it a Mexi body with USA neck? How can I verify that it is what it is advertised to be? Any help would be appreciated and thanks in advance.

Seller must show you the micro tilt under the plate.

Also pictures under the pickguard, electronics .....

That serial jumps back as "U.S.LONE STAR STRAT MN SHG" (on the product registration serial number search engine), so partscasterism is to be suspected although not confirmed. That database isn't 100% reliable.
SHG = Shoreline Gold, and Lone Star™'s of those days were available in that color - in HSS, pearloid plastics etc.. Some other (US) models of 1999 were available in Crimson (Red) Transparent (not "translucent"), and block saddles were in use in 1999, so this could even be a 'factory partscaster' - a v-e-r-y slim chance, but anyways. Neck pocket stamps might give hints...

Get more info & better pics before you make a decision.

Yep good call.
One wonders why the neck plate was replaced.
There could be a genuine reason but neck pocket stamp, neck heel stamp, pics of the wiring and barcode if any may help alleviate any doubt regarding original parts. :)

Thanks for the info all. I received these pics from the seller. Does this prove it's legitimacy or is there still a chance its a partscaster? Not sure if these pics are detailed enough...

Tough call.
A lot of the part numbers are not surprisingly the same for both guitars.
At least it is now obvious it has the micro tilt so that stacks up with the vendors statement.
Did you contact fender with the serial to see what they had to say?
:)

There is some vagueness in the serial number search engine results vs. the guitar vs. what was available as stock models in 1999.
All that can be explained; the database does have errors, and you (generic) could order outside the menu in '99.

But it sure is a beautiful guitar, and all I can see looks legit, and fits 1999.

Reverb's price guide gives a 1999 AmStd (in sunburst, though) a price range of 600 to 850 US dollars.

I think it's best to keep this in one topic:

In my earlier post I wanted to authenticate a 1999 Standard USA Strat. Thanks to you guys on here and customer support I now know it's a neck from a 1999 Lonestar Strat with a different authentic USA body.
Originally the neck was put on a "Shoreline Gold" Lonestar. Although customer support says both body and neck are Fender, the guitar is a "partscaster". How does this affect the value of the guitar? I had settled with the seller at a trade for a 2011 USA Gibson SG Standard and the trade value was agreed for both at $1000.00 Canadian. I'm guessing as a non original guitar it is worth less...?? Again, any help is appreciated.

Very generally speaking, a partscaster is worth whatever the seller and buyer can agree with.
You should think about what you want and what would you get:
From collector's view, a 1999 Strat is not a very special item.
From player's view, this guitar seems to fill the boots of an AmStd1999 if the electronics are original. One note here: a Lone Star™ neck really is an AmStd neck.
Not much help, but try to negotiate a solution you are happy with. If that can't be reached, cancel the deal and keep looking.

And sorry to stir things further, but I am under the impression Fender's Consumer/Customer Relations rely on the same database as the registration search engine. So the error-in-database possibility still exists, if the original input was wrong.
